The biggest and most important Mexican celebration in Hispanic Heritage Month takes place on September 14th in beautiful downtown Mesa. The 2nd Annual Grito officially celebrates Mexican Independence from Spanish rule, “Dia de la Independencia”, other countries who celebrate their independence El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua will also be honored. Fiestas Patrias offers something for every family member. More than 100 vendors offer a wide variety of arts, crafts, and merchandise along with authentic food and drink. Local top-name mariachi and folkloric musical acts headline this cultural event, augmented by the Mexican Consulate’s most popular acts such as El Grito resemblance.
